Who is Sadananda Gowda?
D. V. Sadananda Gowda (born 18 March 1953)is the current chief minister of Karnataka. He represents the Udupi Chikmagalur constituency in Karnataka. In June 2007 he was one of the key players in the BJP forming their first government South of the Vindyas.

Sadananda Gowda is from the Kodagu Gowda family of Mandekolu Village of Sullia Taluk. Venkappa Gowda and Kamala were his parents.
D. V. had his earlier education at Keyyur of Puttur Taluk and also in Sullia. He graduated in science from St. Philomena College, Puttur and went on to attain his degree in law at Udupi Vaikunta Baliga College of law. During this period he was elected as the General Secretary of the Students Union of the Law College. Moreover he was very active as the District General Secretary of ABVP.
In 1976, he started practicing law at both Sullia and Puttur. All through these years he involved himself in public as well as social activities and resigned from the government post to pursue the same.
In the year 1981, he married Datty and the couple had a son by name Karthik.
He was voted the new Chief minister of Karnataka by a secret ballot on 3rd August 2011.
