The government will carry along its allies on all issues on the agenda in parliament, V. Narayanasamy, minister of state in the Prime Minister’s Office, said Monday.
Stating that the budget session would focus only on budget issues, he said the government was prepared for ministers and the prime minister to “answer issues being raised by the opposition including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)”.
Addressing reporters outside parliament, the minister said: “We have to carry our allies together on all major issues as our (Congress) numbers are 208 and for passing any bill we need their support. We will ensure that we carry our allies and talk to them on all agendas in the parliament.”
Listing out the budget schedule, he said: “The budget session is mainly focusing on president’s address where government’s policy framework will be announced. There will be discussion and prime minister will reply (to) the issues raised by the opposition and discussion on the president address.”
“Then there will be budget presentation by the finance minister clearly indicating government’s finance management. There will (also) be discussion on finance bill and appropriation bill and it has to be passed. Then comes the railway budget presented by railway minister and I feel that railway budget won’t be (a) burden on common man,” he said.
