New Delhi : Chinese President Xi Jinping paid homage at the mausoleum of Mahatma Gandhi in New Delhi on Thursday (September 18) followed by his wife Peng Liyuan.

Xi Jinping was accompanied by HRD Minister Smriti Irani to the Rajghat where he laid a wreath at Gandhi’s memorial.
He then wrote a few words in the guest book at Rajghat and was presented with a few books on Mahatma Gandhi along with a model of ‘charkha’.
Jinping is on a three day visit to India which started with his arrival in Ahmedabad on September 17. China and India have signed three agreements to boost trade and set up an industrial park.
