New ?message? from Osama bin Laden surfaces

New York : A new tape emerged on jihadi forums on Friday wherein a voice, purported to be that of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, urged Muslims to invest in developmental projects for welfare of the community.

The 11-minute long tape carries a voice (claimed to be of Laden) and still photos, showing Laden and sites of natural disasters alternately, an US-based terrorism monitoring cell confirmed.

In the message, the voice asks Muslims to invest in infrastructure projects to help fellow-Muslims and develop awareness programs on issues like how to tackle famine, flood relief and water pollution.

The message, entitled ?Pauses with the method of Relief Work?, starts with greetings on Ramadan, the holy Muslim month which ended early September.

The video has been produced by Al-Qaeda’s media arm, as-Sahab.
