Oil giant Pemex evacuates Mexico City skyscraper after blast

Mexico City  : The streets of Mexico City came to a standstill after a powerful explosion rocked the headquarters of state-owned oil giant Pemex, killing at least 14 people, injuring 100 and trapping others inside.

Frightened employees spilled out onto the streets of the capital after the blast battered the lower floors of the downtown tower.

Emergency crews and police scrambled to the base of the Pemex skyscraper to attend to the injured and contain the scene.
