Heart patient, wife die in Dhaka ambulance crash
Dhaka : A critically ill heart patient, his wife and the driver died when their ambulance collided head-on with a truck in Dhaka Wednesday, police said.
The accident took place around 3.30 a.m. Nilu Pathan, 52, his wife Farzana, 45, and driver Alamgir, 45, died on the spot, while three others were injured, Xinhua reported.
Pathan along with his four family members was being transported to another hospital after his condition deteriorated, police officer Abdul Momin said.
The ambulance collided with a sand-laden truck at an intersection.
Pathan’s injured son and two nephews were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The truck driver and his helper fled the scene.
