10 killed in China train-bus collision

Beijing  :  At least 10 people were killed and 11 others injured Monday when a bus collided with a cargo train at a railway crossing in northeast China, officials said.

The accident took place around 7.30 a.m. in Heihe city in Heilongjiang province, Xinhua reported.

Railway officials said the crossing is unguarded but has a supervisor.

But the supervisor failed to reach the area in time to warn vehicles of the approaching train.

All of the victims were passengers of the bus that belonged to a local public transport company.

The bus was carrying 32 passengers at the time of the accident.

The railway line resumed operation around 11 a.m..
