Beer may turn dear in drought-hit Britain
British experts have warned about the possibility of beer prices soaring if drought-hit areas in the country failed to receive showers soon.
According to the British Beer and Pub Association, the quality of barley and hops will suffer if rains keep away, thereby increasing costs for brewers, the Sun reported.
Chips and crisps could also become more expensive as potato yields fall.
The south east and east regions of Britain have been declared drought regions. It may require two months’ rain to return to normal.
