Khar (Pakistan) : At least 38 people were killed in a suicide bombing outside the Civil Colony Khar, Bajaur Agency on Saturday, police and rescue officials said.
The Pakistani officials said the suicide bombing occurred near a food distribution centre in the northwest of the country. The blast happened in the town of Khar in the Bajur region close to the Afghan border.
They estimated that more than 60 people were wounded in the blast. After the blast the security forces have cordoned off the area to launch a search operation and evacuating the injured to the hospitals.
Emergency has been declared in headquarters Khar.
The area where the suicide bomber attacked is a food distribution centre, used by the World Food Programme and other agencies, to distribute food to the conflict-affected people in the region.
