Over 80 people die in Pakistan

At least 80 people were killed in a suicide bombing on World Food Programme and sporadic helicopter raids against the militants camps in northwestern Pakistan since Saturday, officials said on Sunday.

A suicide bomber wearing a veil detonated a powerful bomb killing at least 43 people and wounded some 100 at the World Food Programme distribution point outside the Civil Colony Khar, Bajaur Agency on Saturday, bordering Afghanistan.

The dead belonged to the local Salarzai tribe, which supported the government action against the militants.

To retaliate human bomber, the government forces launched attacks from sky killing at least 40 outlaws at Mohmand, a strife torn tribal district, the officials said.

Meanwhile, a Washnington report said US President Barack Obama condemned the Khar incident. He said the attack was “outrageous,” and said the United States stood with the people of Pakistan.

“Killing innocent civilians outside a World Food Program distribution point is an affront to the people of Pakistan, and to all humanity,” he added.
