Six people were killed and seven injured Wednesday when a massive explosion ripped through a passenger van in Pakistan’s northwest, a media report said.
Geo News reported that the blast took place in Jamrud, a town located in Khyber Agency.
The injured are in a critical condition.
The bomb was attached to the rear of the passenger van travelling from Tirah Valley, a militancy-plagued area, to Jamrud, reported Xinhua.
It is not known how the bomb was detonated.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani condemned the explosion in statements issued shortly after the blast.
