US drone attacks kill 13 in Pakistan

Miranshah : At least 13 militants were feared killed when the US drones fired missiles at two separate hideouts in North Waziristan Agency in Pakistan, official sources said on Monday.

The missiles on Sunday struck an hour apart near the town of Miran Shah in the North Waziristan tribal region, a safe haven for activists of the Taliban and al-Qaeda.

The officials said the missiles struck a house and a vehicle in the town of Ghulam Khan, north of Miran Shah, the main town in North Waziristan where 9 militants were killed and some others sustained injuries.

In another strike, the drones fired two missiles at a vehicle in Maizer area in Dattakhel subdivision where four men were killed.

Most of the killed were local tribesmen.
