An Indian Got Killed in US
New York, Oct 17: A 72-year-old Indian-origin San Jose resident was killed in a hit-and-run accident and was later recognized by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office in California.
On Tuesday morning, Inderjeet Sharma was walking near a road in San Jose when he was hit by a pickup truck and the driver fled the spot.
San Jose Mercury News reported that Sharma was pronounced dead on the spot and his identity was revealed on Friday.
On Wednesday, he police identified and found the vehicle with the help of eyewitnesses and footage from a surveillance camera.
On the same day, the driver of the vehicle Pedro Cortez Bernal, 29, surrendered to the police.
Bernal was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.
