Actor Indraneil Sengupta launches retro glasses

Kolkata : Actor Indraneil Sengupta launched the retro collections of frames and sunglasses by Himalaya Optical here on Friday afternoon.

“From over-sized face covering frames I have spotted a number of youngstars sporting these frames,” Sengupta said.

“Fashion is cyclic process, so retro glasses are back, it has a special appeal. Celebs all around the world like Abhishek Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan wear retro glasses. I feel these glasses will have a long run,” he added.

Sengupta said he feels that the people of Kolkata are very much fashionable, especially the younger generation.

“Most of the young boys and girls come to us today looking for retro frames. it is a trend that has come back and stormed the eye wear fashion scene.And this the time the retro look has come around with a twist as women are the ones who are mostly seen donning the retro frames,” Sudershan Binani, MD,Himalaya Optical said, agreeing to the actor.

He added: “A valid reason on why the retro or vintage look is coming back in fashion, is that eye glasses made now are much stronger and flexible than before. Glasses in the past had the tendency to break quite easily.”

Apart from Sengupta and Binani, city model Tina and music director Debojyoti Mishra were also present at the event.

The retro collections will be available in brands like Rayban, Tommy Hilfiger, Emporio Armani and Vogue.

The price range of the retro glasses will start from Rs. 890 onwards and will be available in all the Himalaya Optical outlets across the nation.
