Designer store for traditional wear launched

Kolkata : With the festive season close at hand, a store offering attires with traditional embroideries, cuts and innovative designs blended into today’s style for the urban women was launched here on Tuesday evening.

People behind the store, Fashion Fields, said the collection offered here was a unique fusion of tradition and modernity.

The owner, director of fine dining restaurants Kiranjit Dhanoa, said the store was going to host upcoming designer labels like ZX, Rebirth and Silver Mist that offer smart casuals.

?Right now we are concentrating on traditional designed sarees, chunris and lehengas which are inspired by traditional Indian colours. Apart from that, we also offer smart casuals and partywears,? she said.

“The lehengas and sarees are embroidered for the perfect look for the puja. The glitz and shine of the puja and our designer labels will compliment each other,” said Dhanoa.

The premium priced collection is primarily targeted towards women looking to add traditional designer clothes for all celebrations into their wardrobe.

Dhanoa said the selection of right colours merging with right embroidery was the secret of their unique designs.

?I believe that Kolkata has a very strong cultural taste for ethnic wear and since the puja is knocking on the doors, I thought showcasing our collection to the people was a good idea,? she said.
