Goa spent Rs 2.5 crores for beach installation: Minister

The Goa Government has spent lavishly towards advertising and publicizing the state?s renowned installation artist Subodh Kerkar?s art work titled ?The Earth Bowl? (Prithvi Kund), this January.

Replying to a starred question in the on-going budget session of the State Legislative Assembly, State Tourism Minister Nilkant Halarnkar said the department approved Rs 2.5crores towards Kerkar?s installation.

?The concept of the earth bowl installation at Vagator beach is universal brotherhood, symbol of one world and promotion of tourism,? Halankar said in his written reply.

Halarnkar had inaugurated the two-metre diameter bowl installation at Ozran, small Vagator beach in Anjuna on Jan 28.
