Kolkata got to witness art crafted out of industrial wastes as painter Simran KS Lamba’s exhibition titled ‘Genesis’ was unveiled in the city on Tuesday evening.
His paintings are crafted from industrial wastes like coal, tar, aluminum,metals, nuts, bolts, wires, mesh, gauge and glass.
“It feels nice; I m receiving lots of appreciation from people. They are liking the medium,” Lamba told IBNS.
“The feedback has been really positive, people are connecting with my works,” he added.
The painter said in future he will keep on experimenting and will work with more mediums so that his creations can reach a new level.
“But I will be playing with more mediums and take the works to a different level,” he said.
Actor Rituparna Sengupta inaugurated the exbition.
Asked how she finds Lamba’s art, Ritu said: “Excellent. I have never seen such an endevour.. art created out of coal and tar is simply unbelievable, you are using all the natural resources…I really appreciated him for that.”
“I always feel that creative things should be encouraged, painting is truly a place of love for me,” said renowned dancer Tanusree Shankar, who was also present at the event.
The exhibition will start from Dec 8 and will continue till Dec 11.
