People elect us because we deliver: P Chidambaram
Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Monday said while the BJP delivered modest growth, the Congress delivered massive growth and so people voted for the party again and again.
Speaking at the 83rd plenary session of the party at Burari here, the Home Minister said: “While they (BJP) delivers modest growth, Congress delivers massive growth.”
“Only Congress can lead the country and the PM has laid out a roadmap for India,” he said.
He said the people elected Congress again “because we can deliver”. He said the BJP is angry having lost the elections in 2004 and 2009.
“We will fight corruption,” he said reiterating the PM and Sonia Gandhi and lambasting BJP for failing to fight corruption in its governments.
Assuring peace and good governance across India, Chidambaram said Congress stands for job creating growth.
He said Rs 3 lakh crore were disbursed for states in 2010.
He said every three month a minister should come to the PM and give account of the work done and in every six month the government must explain to the Congress president on the work done.
“For the next ten years we will be in government,” he said, adding that the BJP will be unable to come to power in next ten years or even after.
