The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) on Wednesday said the Left Front?s sweeping victory in Tripura municipal elections confirms faith of the people in them.
The Left Front has a landslide victory at the civic polls on Tuesday where it won a majority in 13 out of the 15 nagar panchayats.
?The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) conveys its warm greetings to the CPI(M) and the Left Front of Tripura for their sweeping victory in the municipal elections. This decisive victory is confirmation of the confidence that the people of Tripura repose in the CPI(M) and the Left Front,? said the party in a statement.
The Left Front also retained the Agartala Municipal Council by winning 28 out of the 35 seats.
The Left Front has won 81 per cent of the seats in the municipal council and the nagar panchayats.
