Mumbai : As mobile companies huddle in to strike a deal to form a strategic alliance to offer 3G mobile services on a pan-India level, the key players of India?s telecom sector will meet for a conference here on September 24.
The talks are needed since none of the operators has won 3G spectrum in all the circles. While Bharti Airtel has walked away with spectrum in 13 circles, Vodafone has won in nine and Idea in 11 circles.
Organised by Bharat Exhibitions and supported by the Department of Telecom and the Department of Information Technology, 3G India 2010 wants focus on laying India’s roadmap on 3G.
As all the leading private operators in India are expected to launch 3G Services by December 2010, the gathering will provide a meeting space for carriers, handset manufacturers and equipment manufacturers, among other groups, the organisers said.
