Kumble joins Mumbai Indians as mentor

Mumbai  :  Indian Premier League (IPL) side Mumbai Indians have roped in world’s third highest wicket-taker Anil Kumble as their chief mentor to replace outgoing former South Africa captain Shaun Pollock.

Former India captain Kumble, who had been with the Royal Challengers Bangalore first as player and then as their mentor, has agreed to join Mumbai Indians as Pollock’s contract with them ended at the end of the last season.

Mumbai Indians are yet to win the IPL, though they have won the Champions League in 2011. Their only chance of winning the IPL was in 2010 but were beaten by Chennai Super Kings in the 2010 final.
