We can adapt to any condition, says Dravid

Former captain Rahul Dravid feels that India can adapt to any condition in the third Test against South Africa that starts here on Sunday.

“It really doesn’t matter what conditions we face at Cape Town. The critical thing is to play well, no matter what the conditions are. We are just not worried about what we get there. The beauty of this team is we have the balance to do well in all conditions. We have quick bowlers to exploit seaming conditions,” Dravid said.

The Indian cricketer said that team has to back itself to beat South Africa.

“If there’s some turn, Harbhajan (Singh) can use it and then we have top seven batsmen to score runs in any conditions. So we are just not worried and we back ourselves to do well,” he said.

Newlands curator Evan Flint predicted a high-scoring surface.

“I would love to get the same bounce as grounds like SuperSport Park and the Wanderers,” Flint said.

“I would like to create a surface that South Africa can get a good result on, but I’ve just got to do the best I can, and hopefully South Africa can play to their strengths,” he said.
