Narain Karthikeyan has said he will return to F1 with Hispania racing team after six years in hiatus.
The 33-year-old Karthikeyan has not raced in F1 since his 2005 stint with Jordan F1.
Karthikeyan has announced that he has signed a deal to race for Hispania.
” I have always maintained that my time in F1 was not over. I said I would give F1 another shot and when this opportunity rpesented itself I was overjoyed,” India’s ace racing driver said.
Karthikeyan became the first Indian F1 driver when racing for Jordan in 2005.
Hispania is expected to come out with a statement on its driver line-up on Friday.
Karthikeyan’s compatriot Karun Chandhok raced for Hispania in 2010 while Bruno Senna, Sakon Yamamoto and Christian Klien also drove for the team in their maiden F1 campaign.
