No lack of talent in Pakistan, Jahangir Khan

Islamabad/Pakistan: Squash legend and former world champion??Jahangir Khan has said that three ?s? are compulsory in squash to become the excellent player. There is no lack of talent in Pakistan; if our players work hard they can become world class players.

In an exclusive interview, he said that three ?s? means, speed, stamina and skill, if any player focus on this he will definitely achieved the top position in the Squash. There was a time when Pakistani players were dominating in the world of squash but now its seems that we have no relation with the squash.

?Pakistan is full of talent and our players have an ability to return the glory in squash but it is only possible when our players will work hard. I always give suggestions to officials of Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) but we need to change the way of giving training to National players?. He emphasized.

During career Jahangir Khan has won the World Open six times and the British Open a record ten times. Between 1981 and 1986, he was unbeaten in competitive play for five years. During that time he won 555 matches consecutively. This was not only the longest winning streak in squash history, but also one of the longest unbeaten runs by any?athlete?in top-level professional sports.

Khan said that Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) must arrange its training camps on the pattern of countries likeUnited Kingdom (UK), Egypt and France. ?Now these countries are producing world class players in the field of Squash we must follow their System?.

Answering one question he rejected this impression that metal approach of Pakistani players is not strong. ?Players metal approach is not a reason of declining Squash in the country?.? ?We have to change the way of training for getting success?. He stressed.

Khan said? that squash? is? the? important part of his life and? he is only? alive? for its promotion? in the? country and once again ?he? want? to? see Pakistan?s world? champion in the? world? of squash.

Moreover he also hoped that glory of squash will soon return to country and Pakistan will once again dominate in squash.

Jahangir Khan retired?as a player in 1993, and has served as President of the World Squash Federation since 2002.
