Court orders FIR against ex-AP CM in land scam
A designated court here on Wednesday asked the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Andhra Pradesh to register FIR against former chief minister K Rosaiah and several others in an alleged land scam.
Rosaiah?s role in an alleged irregular land allotment case is under the scanner.
He had allegedly denotified 9-acre of prime government land worth Rs 200 crore in Ameerpet in Hyderabad and handed it to a private party for construction of a commercial complex when he was the chief minister.
Former chief minister late YS Rajashekhar Reddy had rejected the same proposal earlier, which was later reportedly cleared by Rosaiah.
An advocate K Mohanlal had filed the petition against Rosaiah and the others in the ACB.
The ACB has been directed by the court to submit its findings by January 28.
The petition states that the land was bought by GN Naidu and a few others from the landowners in 1997 after the land acquisition notification was issued.
?In July 2010, the state government withdrew the land acquisition notification and handed over the land back to the original owners in an unlawful manner,? the petitioner said. ?Under the Land Acquisition Act, the state has no power to return the land once acquired under the Act.?
