International sex racket busted in Goa

Goa police Sunday cracked down on international sex racket involving trafficking of three Nepali girls and one from Mumbai.

Two kingpins ? Hanumant Patil and Nandish Gawda, both aged 25 and hailing from Bangalore and Rajasthan respectively- were arrested.

The raid comes following a tip-off that the accused would arrive at Dona Paula, 8 kms from here along with four girls in a Tata Indica car.

?One of the four rescued girls is a minor. We have lodged them at Protective Home,? said police inspector Sandesh Chodankar.

It is reportedly learnt that the duo would strike a deal with their customers either in person or via telecommunication. They would fix rates not less than Rs 25,000 per girl.

?We planted a decoy who struck a deal with them and promised to pick up the girls from near Manipal hospital at Dona Paula. We had kept a watch on the accused-duo for quite a long time and nabbed them red-handed,? he said.

The girls claimed that they were lured with lucrative job offers in Goa but were made to work as prostitutes.

?We cannot say anything at present as the investigation is at preliminary stage?we are interrogating the accused,? said the officer.
