Ahmedabad : At least 17 people, most of them daily wage earners, were killed when the sand-laden truck in which they were travelling, toppled in Gujarat’s Anand district on Tuesday morning, burying them alive, police said.
The victims included three childen.
Three other occupants of the truck were injured in the mishap that took place at Indranaj village under Tarapur taluka.
The wounded were taken to a hospital where their condition was stated to be critical.
The vehicle was speeding towards Bhavnagar carrying sand from Surat.
