Cant provide govt. job to all: Omar

Terming militancy and unemployment as the biggest challenges of his government, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Thursday said that it is not possible for him his to provide government job to every unemployed youth of the state.

Speaking on the release of the report by Expert Group on jobs plan at SKICC here, the Chief Minister called militancy and unemployment as the two biggest challenges of his government.

“Militancy is the source of frustration among youths and the unfavourable conditions prevailing over here due to militancy is the fountainhead of unemployment in Vally,” he said.

Omar said every youth wants a government job, which is not possible. “There are private sectors where youth can earn much above their expectations and they should go for it,” he said.

He said that there is no increase in state revenue while as the salary bill has jumped to Rs 14,000 crores “in such a situation how come it is possible for the State Government to absorb un-employed youth in state departments?”
