Drug peddler arrested in Kashmir
Srinagar : Acting on a tip off, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday arrested a youth allegedly involved in drug peddling here.
According to reports, a team from Maharaj Gunj police station emerged from a numberless white Santro car near Amira Kadal and apprehended a youth Aijaz Ahmed Ganaie from Kulgam, who was working as a salesman at a local shop.
People present there were reportedly stunned on the ‘sudden’ operation of the police.
Confirming the arrest, Superintendent of Police (SP) North, Showket Hussain Shah told IBNS that they had arrested two youths involved in drug peddling earlier. “During interrogation they raised a finger at this youth and accordingly we arrested him.”
Pertinently, hundreds of the youths across the Valley are involved in drug addiction and police has started a drive against the big fish involved in this illegal trade.
