Ghani murder: JK Police kills 3 militants

The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday said three militants, who were responsible for beheading Congress party worker Abdul Ghani, have been shot dead in Kishtwar district.

According to reports, the Army shot three militants at Kishtwar on Friday.

Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant Abdul Jabbar (21) and his three associates allegedly kidnapped Abdul Gani and chopped off his head at Koat forest belt on May 17. Ghani was the vice president of Halqa (local panchayat) unit of the Congress.

After recovery of Gani?s body, a joint operation was launched by 11 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and J&K police.

Jabbar was nabbed from his den at Koat late May 19, said a senior police official.

The militant was interrogated to trace his associates.
