No restriction on people?s movement: JK Police
The Jammu & Kashmir Police on Saturday said there is no restriction on people?s movement Srinagar, summer capital of the state.
?There is no restriction on movement of people in Srinagar. However, people can?t carry out processions without the permission of the competent authority,? said the police on Saturday.
The J&K Police further said: ?There have been no reports of any untoward incident reported from any where.?
Meanwhile, authorities lifted the curfew restrictions across Valley except Kangan area on Saturday.
However, in Kralpora, Trehgam and Kupwara town, restrictions under section 144 of Criminal procedure code will remain in force.
As has been reported earlier, that in Akhal, Kangan area, an encounter had taken place on Sept 30 evening between the security forces and holed up militants, where two unidentified militants, one police constable and one civilian got killed.
The killed civilian got caught in the cross fire, whose identity was later ascertained as Farooq Ahmad Bhat, resident of Akhal Kangan. Two other cops were also injured in the encounter.
The search operation was still going on, the police said on Saturday.
At least 108 people were killed in anti-India protests led by the separatists in Kashmir since June 11, prompting the Centre to initiate talks with the various groups in the state, propose greater autonomy and depute an all-party delegation to the Valley.
