Ammonium nitrate seized in Jharkhand

Police seized 47 sacks of ammonium nitrate suspected to be meant for Maoists in Jharkhand’s Pakur district Thursday, police said.

The seizure was made from a house in Sitapahri village, around 500 km from Ranchi. The house owner escaped.

Maoists are known to use ammonium nitrate to make bombs.
