Ranchi : The electoral fate of Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda will be known by this noon as counting for the Kharswan Assembly by-poll began on Thursday.
The Bharatiya Janata Party leader is seeking people’s mandate to move into the Jharkhand Assembly as he is required to be elected by March 11.
Munda’s main rival is Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) nominee Dasrath Gagrai.
Besides the two, five others candidates, mainly the independents, also contested.
The Kharswan seat fell vacant after BJP MLA Mangal Singh Soy quit two months ago to make road for Munda.
