Five killed in Jharkhand bus accident
A least five commuters were killed and more than a score wounded when a night-service bus veered off the road and rolled down a deep gorge in Jharkhand’s Garhwa district early on Thursday, police said.
The accident happened when the packed-to -the-capacity vehicle was speeding towards Garhwa from Ambikapur.
It fell off the road on a turn to roll down nearly 400-500-foot deep gorge, police and eyewitnesses said.
Some of the survivors said most of the victims were in sleep on their seats when the mishap took place.
Details of the casualty were not known immediately.
Police said the wounded people were being shifted to different hospitals and the toll could rise.
