Jharkhand extortionist arrested in Kolkata

Kolkata : An ill-famous Jharkhand extortionist was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police from Posta area here on Wednesday night.

According to police, Kishore Pandey was arrested with his associate Bijay Kumar Singh.

Pandey was running the gang of his uncle Bhola, an ex-don of Jharkhand.

“Pandey has been charged in various cases of extortion and murder on Jharkhand,” said STF inspector Partha Charkaborty.

“He was evading arrest for the last three years after he managed to escape from the custody of Jharkhand Police at the time of his production at Hazaribagh Court by spraying chilli powder in the eyes of his custodians,” Chakraborty added.

Pandey was carrying one improvised 7.65 mm pistol at the time of his arrest.
