Six members of a family were charred to death in Jharkhand’s Seraikela-Kharsawa on Sunday, police said.
According to police, the incident took place at Rangmatia village of Seraikela-Kharwa district, which is around 140 Km from Ranchi.
A man, his wife and their four children were charred to death.
Police have yet to ascertain the cause of the fire.
“We are investigating the cause of the fire. We have recorded statement of the villagers and the statements are contradictory. Some say it was an accident and some that the family members were burnt to death,” a police official told IANS over phone.
Police have yet to identify the bodies.
