Bangalore : Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, setting aside all speculations, on Wednesday expanded his twenty-eight-month-old 28-member cabinet on Wednesday taking six more ministers raising ministerial head to thirty-four.
Governor H R Bhardwaj administered the oath of the office and secrecy to A Narayanaswamy, C H Vijayashankar, C C Patil, Shobha Karandlaje, V Somanna and S A Ramdas as ministers of cabinet rank at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan.
Besides Yeddyurappa, many of his cabinet colleagues and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary H N Anantkumar were present there amidst anxiety on who the new faces would be.
Yeddyurappa was closeted with his confidantes on who to induct into his Cabinet, as a minor rebellion was brewing at his colleague’s house after the minister, Goolihatti Shekhar, on Monday had threatened to commit suicide if he was not retained.
