Murdered Kannada actress Manjula, husband Yogesh arrested

Bangalore : The husband of murdered Kannada actress Manjula, Yogesh, has been arrested in connection with the case.

Four other people have also been held by the police in the same case, reports said on Wednesday.

Police said that Yogesh had got his wife killed after he found out that she was involved in an extra-marital affair.

Yogesh paid Rs 6 lakh to four contract killers ?Vikram, Anil, Prakash and Radeesh, who took her to Magadi on July 7 and strangled her to death. The body was later buried.

He had filed a police complaint that Manjula was missing to avoid suspicion.

The decomposed body of the actress was recovered on Sunday after police investigations led to the four contract killers and eventually to Yogesh.

Manjula had acted in movies such as Josh, Pran, Appu and Omkara as well as in a popular Kannada soap Guptagamini.

She had married Yogesh in 2007 after divorcing her first husband, with whom she had two children.

Trouble had started between Yogesh and Manjula when he took to heavy drinking and she started an extra-marital affair.
