No arrest in Bangalore techie murder of Payal Surekha: Police
Bangalore : No arrest has been made so far in the mysterious death of Payal Surekha, a software engineer from Assam, police said on Thursday.
?No formal arrest has been made so far,? Bangalore Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari told reporters here.
“An officer in our force is suffering from verbal diarrhoea. Even before we could collect evidence in the case, he reached his own conclusion and blabbered details from his imagination to a local newspaper. We are going to administer proper medicine to him,” Bidari said.
On Dec 18, official sources said Karnataka police are yet to make any headway in the probe into the death of the Bangalore techie.
The twenty-nine-year-old, an employee of DELL and married to a man from Orissa, was found murdered in her apartment in southern part of the city on Dec 17.
Surekha, a technical associate with DELL, was found with her throat slit on her bed at the apartment.
She was married to Ananth Narayan Mishra, a health specialist, for the past five years.
Police said Mishra was holidaying in Orissa.
Police said they came to know after Mishra alerted the flat owner after his call to his wife went unanswered.
The owner, who also had a duplicate key to the flat, opened and found Surekha tied to her limbs and murdered.
Police said they are handling the case very seriously and believed to make a headway soon to the homicide.
