Not possible to please everyone, says Srinath

Bangalore : Former India fast bowler and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) secretary Javagal Srinath refuted charges of irregularities in the sale of World Cup tickets and said it was not possible to please everyone and that unhappy people say all kinds of things.

?There is a limit to what we can do. Beyond that we cannot do anything?unhappy people will say all kinds of things,? Srinath said in a hastily organised press conference.

Denying the charges of irregularities, Srinath said that 7000 tickets had been sold during the day.

Asked about the security arrangements for the match, Srinath said: ?We have taken all necessary precautions. Well will put up a list of dos and donts for everyone soon,? he said.

Srinath?s statement came after police beating up angry fans outside Bangalore`s M Chinnaswamy Stadium to buy tickets for Sunday`s World Cup showdown between India and England.

Asked about the clash, Srinath said: “There is a limit to keeping the the people happy, unhappy people will say anything they want to. The KSCA had made commitments to the corporate clients, the BCCI and the ICC and that the association could not backtrack on those now. We also have kind of corporate clients, ones who have persevered with us, so it is very difficult to accommodate everyone”

He further added that the security detail for the match will be thoroughly discussed and a drill will be put in place that will ensure the safety of the fans and the media.
