Yeddyurappa meets Karnataka governor
Ahead of facing lawmakers in the Assembly next week, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa called on state Governor H R Bhardwaj at the Raj Bhavan on Friday.
Emerging out from the governor house, Yeddyurappa said the visit was a courtesy call. The CM said he will meet the Governor every fortnight.
The Governor has been vocal about his belief that the single-largest trademark of Yeddyurappa’s government was corruption. He has suggested that from illegal mining to irregular land scams, the Bharatiya Janata Patry (BJP) has abused its powers in the state; which the party denied.
Yeddyurppa, heading a BJP-led coalition government, has been facing charge of nepotism, which the party chief Nitin Gadkari described as immoral and not illegal. Yeddyurappa has been accused of being involved in land scam, which benefited his son.
State Congress general secretary B K Hariprasad on Thursday alleged Yeddyurappa had funded Gadkari’s son marriage in Nagpur recently.
The next Karnataka Assembly session begins on Thursday.
