Congress , CPI(M) hit out on BJP?s ?double standards?

As the BJP central leadership lingered on without a final decision on Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa?s exit following the alleged land scams, the Congress and CPI(M) on Tuesday hit out at the ?double standards? of the saffron party.

Slamming the country?s main opposition party, ruling Congress? spokesperson Jayanti Natarajan said, ?It is BJP?s double standard. The tainted Karnataka Chief Minister (Yeddyurappa) continues and the leadership is silent on the issue. Double standard of the BJP stands exposed in the country.?

Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Brinda Karat also did not spare the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

She said, ?It is the double standards of the BJP as it has not immediately sought the resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister and it does raise a very fundamental question.

?While we are completely one on the issue of action on the 2G spectrum issue, the double standards of the BJP as far as Karnataka is concerned is really striking.?

The BJP, which has been stalling Parliament proceedings along with other Opposition parties for all the eight working days so far of the Winter Session demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the 2G scam, has failed to crack the whip on Yeddyurappa.

Yeddyurappa, the BJP?s first chief minister in South India, is facing serious allegations of wrongful allotment of prime government land to family members, who have surrendered the plots after the scam emerged.
