Bhopal : It is only in the BJP that an ordinary party worker can become a chief minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is set to begin his third stint at the helm in Madhya Pradesh, said Sunday.
Addressing a press conference here after a stunning victory in the state assembly elections, Chouhan said he had tried his best to serve the people and would continue to work for the development and welfare of the state.
He described the Bharatiya Janata Party’s victory in Madhya Pradesh as a triumph of its ideology.
Chouhan thanked his senior leaders for their support all through the poll campaign.
The BJP was ahead in 157 seats, comfortably breaching the half-way mark in the 230-member legislative assembly.
As the results began to pour in, BJP workers began celebrating across the sprawling state. They burst fire crackers, beat drums, distributed sweets and waved the party flag.
Madhya Pradesh voted Nov 25.
