Shivraj Chouhan flip-flop on railway budget
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Wednesday did a flip-flop on the railway budget for 2012-13, first welcoming it and then criticising it.
Initially, Chouhan welcomed the rail budget announcements about setting up a diesel engine factory at Vidisha, running a Habibganj-Indore double decker train and the conversion of four Adarsh stations.
However, soon Chouhan echoed his cabinet minister, Laxmikant Sharma. Sharma had stated that the railway budget had disappointed Madhya Pradesh.
Chouhan said: “An increase in the passenger fare will add to the economic burden on common people.”
The chief minister also said that fast progressing Madhya Pradesh expected some more new trains and rail lines to connect it to mega cities across the nation.
