Aryan Goveas to face Gnana Bhaskar in sub-junior tennis final

Chennai  :  Maharashtra’s Aryan Goveas, the highest seed left in the boys singles draw, defeated Vikram Dahiya of Haryana 6-2, 7-6 (5) to enter the final of the Adidas-TTT National sub-junior Tennis Championship, here Friday.

In the title round, the fifth seeded Goveas takes on PV Gnana Bhaskar of Andhra Pradesh who overcame West Bengal’s Nitin Kumar Sinha 6-2, 7-5.

The girls’ singles final will be between top seed Karman Kaur of Delhi and wild card Ramya Natarajan of Tamil Nadu, as they beat Gujarat’s Zeel Desai and Maharashtra’s Mihika Yadav, respectively, in straight sets.

Results: Boys U-14 Singles (semi-finals): (9) PV Gnana Bhaskar (AP) bt (10) Nitin Kumar Sinha (WB) 6-2, 7-5; (5) Aryan Goveas (MH) bt (16) Vikrant Dahiya (HR) 6-2, 7-6(5). Doubles (final): Nitin Kumar Sinha (WB) / Vikas Singh (WB) bt (4) Bijay Kumar Mohanty (AS) / Mingkhi Talom (AR) 6-7(3), 6-3, 10-8.

Girls U-14 Singles (semi-finals): (1) Karman Kaur (DL) bt (5) Zeel Desai (GJ) 6-3, 6-1; (WC) Ramya Natarajan (TN) bt (3) Mihika Yadav (MH) 6-2, 6-3. Doubles (final): (4) Snehal Mane (MH) / Zeel Desai (GJ) bt (2) Mihika Yadav (MH) / Nandini Sharma (CH) 7-5, 7-6(4).
