26/11 victims? family sues ISI, Laskar-e-Toiba

Pakistan?s secret service agency ISI and outlawed militant group Laskar-e-Toiba (LeT) are being sued by family of Rabbi Gavriel Noach Holtzberg and his wife, who were among the over 160 people killed by Pakistan-trained gunmen during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

Media reports said that the lawsuit was filed in a federal court here last week and held the Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) and LeT for the attacks.

Pakistan?s government agency ISI has been sued for having ?provided critical planning, material support, control and coordination for the attacks?.

The victims? family has demanded monetary compensation, though no specific amount has been mentioned.

The Holtzberg family has enlisted James Kreindler as their lawyer, who had also worked on a suit against Libyan intelligence agencies after the Pan Am Flight 103 terror attack that brought down a plane in Scotland in 1988, killing 270.

Holtzberg and his pregnant wife Rivka were killed in the Chad House attack in Colaba in Mumbai.

Their two-year-old son, Moshe Holtzbery, was rescued by his nanny Sandra Samuel, who has now been accorded honorary Israeli citizenship and permanent residency status.

More than 160 people were killed in the attacks that last about 60 hours, with the militants targeting Mumbai landmarks, including a railway station and luxury hotels.

Only one of the ten gunmen was nabbed alive and he is now facing death row in India.
