Facebook helps trace missing Mumbai boy, Karnik Shah

A six-year-old Mumbai boy, who had gone missing on Apr 6, has been traced to Uttar Pradesh, thanks to social networking site Facebook that helped his family spread the message.

Karnik Shah had gone to play with his friends on his building compound at Kandivali on Apr 6. But he could not be traced from there.

After contacting Mumbai Police, Karnit’s uncle Devang Mehta uploaded his photo on Facebook on Apr 9 and online communities helped him to spread the missing report to the masses across the country and even abroad.

Four people, including a cake shop owner, have been arrested in the case, said the police on Wednesday.

Main accused Sohan Singh used to run his cake shop near Karnit?s residence.

A Mumbai police team has already left for Lucknow to bring the child back home.
