Fire injures 9 near Bandra Railway Station in Mumbai
Slums adjoining the Bandra railway station in the western suburb of Mumbai were engulfed in a fire on Friday evening injuring at least nine people.
It took 26 fire trucks and ten water tankers hours to reign in the flames, that broke at around 8:30 pm, and a huge loss of property is expected.
The incident hit suburban train services in the city and authorities had to shut down the the Harbour line for two hours.
The exact cause of the flames has not been ascertained yet but gas cylinders exploding in the slum could have been a possibility, media reports said.
