Medic held for rape in hospital
Mumbai : A medic was being produced in a court here on Monday after his arrest for allegedly raping a patient, police said.
Doctor Vishal Bane was taken in police custody in Navi Mumbai after the woman complained that she was raped by him in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit(ICU) at Vashi in the wee hours of Sunday.
The woman complained of ill health during a dandiya celebration on Saturday night. Her husband then brought her to the nearby Lotus Hospital where she was admitted to the Intensive ICU.
“We admitted her to the ICU at around 9:30 pm…the RMO came for inspection… after he left my sister told us that the he tried to take off her clothes… there are also marks on her body,” said Tapan Das, elder brother of the victim.
