One killed, 3 injured in JNPT fire

One person was killed and three others injured after the container freight station at government-controlled Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) at Uran in Navi Mumbai caught fire on Wednesday afternoon.

The fire broke out after one of the containers, filled with chemicals, exploded at the yard, said the police after preliminary investigation.

?One person died and three suffered injuries in the incident,” Ankush Shinde, Deputy Police Commissioner, Navi Mumbai, told reporters.

Seven fire engines, with four water tankers, rushed to the spot to douse the flames.
